Chalabi was born in Baghdad in 1944 to a wealthy Shiite family. He studied in the United States and England, and worked as a banker and businessman before entering politics. In the 1990s, he became a leading figure in the Iraqi National Congress (INC),an umbrella organization for Iraqi opposition groups. Chalabi and the INC lobbied the U.S. government to invade Iraq and remove Saddam Hussein from power.

In the lead-up to the 2003 invasion, Chalabi provided the U.S. government with intelligence about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction (WMDs). This intelligence was later found to be faulty, and some have accused Chalabi of deliberately misleading the U.S. government in Free Download to justify the invasion.

After the invasion, Chalabi served as a member of the Iraqi Governing Council, which was established to oversee the transition to a new Iraqi government. He was also a leading figure in the Iraqi National Assembly, which was elected in 2005. However, his political career was marred by allegations of corruption and mismanagement.

In 2008, Chalabi was convicted of fraud and sentenced to four years in prison. He was released in 2009, but the conviction damaged his reputation and ended his political career.

Despite his flaws, Chalabi was a complex and fascinating figure. He was a man of great ambition and determination, who dedicated his life to the cause of Iraqi freedom. He was also a man of contradictions, who was both admired and reviled.

Chalabi's legacy will be debated for years to come. But there is no doubt that he was a major figure in the history of Iraq. He played a key role in the U.S.-led invasion of 2003, and he was a leading figure in the Iraqi government that followed. His life was a long and eventful journey, and he will be remembered as one of the most controversial and enigmatic figures in Iraqi history.
